Peadar Glennon

Peadar’s first experience teaching in a classroom was in Meki, Ethiopia when he was 18. This initial experience sparked further travels in North Africa, West Africa and India.

He studied Arabic in Morocco, an experience that left a profound impact when he struggled to complete the entrance exam- a stark reminder of the limitations one faces without the ability to read or write in a country’s script. He has worked in Australia and New Zealand. His first teaching post was in Canada.

He has been working with refugees and asylum seekers at various levels from A0-B2 since 2008, primarily in Spirasi and the Dublin Adult Learning Centre. His true passion lies in using the narratives of migrants and refugees as a catalyst to inspire others.

Peadar holds a BA in Philosophy and is currently the ESOL coordinator of the afternoon and evening programme at Dublin Adult Learning Centre. Additionally, he teaches a beginner’s class at Spirasi where he continues to explore the world of language education and cultural exchange.
